Abstract
Since 1905, the annual conferences of the German Society for Forensic Medicine/Legal Medicine and, from 1967 to 1990, also the conferences of the Society for Forensic Medicine of the GDR have been an integral part of the national and international exchange of knowledge. In addition to a list of the scientific program and the social and cultural supporting programs, accompanying programs also included greetings from the respective conference president, in which the respective current position and social function of the subject was expressed. The front pages of the programs, which have survived without gaps from 1951 onwards, reflect in different ways and designs the typical facets of the conference location combined with the contemporary style—a journey through time.
