Abstract
Injuries caused by lightning are comparatively rare but are one of the most common injuries resulting from natural events. During an airshow lightning struck a group of spectators injuring many persons. A 35-year-old man survived for 4 days after an initially successful resuscitation. The forensic autopsy revealed burn injuries typical for lightning running down the length of the body and the histological examination revealed myocardial necrosis.
