Abstract

The reaction of 2,5-dihydro-4,5,5-trimethyl-2,2-di-2-pyridyl-imidazole-1-oxyl (L) with AgSbF6 gives the complex [Ag2L2]2+ [SbF6-]2 which was characterized by X-ray diffraction. - The complex (a biradical) forms a four-membered ring with two Ag(I) ions and two imine nitrogen atoms of the imidazolines with a relatively short Ag-Ag distance [2.839(2) Å]. Magnetic measurements indicate that two nitroxide radicals are slightly coupled.
