Abstract
This contribution presents reasons for the detailed assessment of language comprehension abilities in children, difficulties for the therapist concerning this topic and an overview of those assessment tools available in Germany that have been described as specifically useful by experts of the field due to standardisation or other reasons. This is followed by a description of the TROG-D (Fox, 2006), which is a fairly new standardised instrument for the assessment of comprehension of grammatical structures. The article is partly based on background knowledge provided in trie article: "Sprache Verstehen - Ein Blick auf Strukturen und Prozesse" (Schmitz & Beushausen, 2007).
