Abstract
This is the reply to the discussion of the two companion articles on the theory and application of "probability estimation with machine learning methods for dichotomous and multicategory outcome" by Kruppa et al. (2014; 534-563 and 564-583). The five discussion papers are Binder (2014; 584-587), Boulesteix and Schmid (2014; 588-593), Shin and Wu (2014; 594-596), Simon (2014; 597-600), and Steyerberg et al. (2014; 601-606).
