Abstract
Besides intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm, serous cystic adenoma and mucinous cystic neoplasm, there are several rare neoplasms that also can appear as a cystic tumor of the pancreas. Although these entities are very rare, physicians practicing in centers for pancreatology and pancreatic surgery are likely to encounter patients with these diseases in practice. There are several specific features characterizing most of these rare tumors, which can be helpful in diagnosis and planning of treatment. Improved imaging as well as case series and reviews thereof contributed significantly to provide more and clinically relevant data on these tumors over the past decade.
