Abstract
Radiotherapy has become an established procedure for treatment of sarcomas. The indication for postoperative adjuvant irradiation remains undisputed in cases in which the risk of recurrence is high. The following are important developments achieved in the past 1-2 years: Preoperative vs postoperative radiotherapy for high-risk soft tissue carcinoma of the extremities. Intensified preoperative chemoradiotherapy. Radiotherapy for synovial sarcoma in children and adolescents. Radiotherapy for osteosarcoma.
