Abstract
Safety-critical, interactive, human-computer systems are used for real-time process control in large facilities such as power plants and factories, in transport systems, and in health care facilities. They monitor and control complex human and machine related processes. This title provides an interdisciplinary presentation of psychological, design, engineering, and cultural issues, as well as theories and models related to these new technologies.
