Abstract
Access of immune cells and mediators to the central nervous system(CNS) is restricted, leading to what was previously thought to beimmune privilege of the CNS. However, recent studies highlightthat the CNS is no immune free zone. Controlled permeation ofimmune cells and factors through the protective blood–brain barrier(BBB) is critical for normal brain function and the immune homeostasisof the brain
