Abstract
This review paper focuses on current concepts of multimodal therapy in advanced squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck, including locations such as oral cavity, oro, hypopharynx and larynx. Beside primary chemoradiation, which is currently the best therapy for advanced unresectable disease, organ preservation programs with chemoradiation and impact of chemotherapy are presented. Furthermore, supportive applications like substitution of hemoglobin for enhancing efficacy of chemoradiation will be discussed.
