Abstract
The dependence of the Mossbauer line shape on the double-exchange interaction was studied for dimeric mixed-valence systems. The coherent tunneling motion of the excess electron between the metal sites produced a resonance splitting of the localized states. In the case of weak interactions, this motion splitted the Mossbauer lines. An asymmetry distortion suppressed this effect by destroying the resonance conditions.
