Abstract

With about 480,000 new cases per year, cancer is one of the most common diseases in Germany. It is to differentiate between epidemiological and clinical cancer registration. While the former has to describe the burden of disease, trends and clusters, quality assurance is the task of the latter. The current area-wide establishment of clinical cancer registration all throughout Germany is a great chance for more transparency and improvement of the oncological care.
