Abstract
During the last decade, several new antidepressants have been introduced into clinical practice. The authors examine whether these new drugs have real clinical advantages. In addition, the major differences between the different classes of antidepressants, will be summarized. The article aims to help psychiatrists in their clinical decision which antidepressant agent would be 'ideal' for a given patient.
