Abstract

The continuous development of ultrasound systems and their equipment are essential for gynecological-obstetrical diagnostics. The unstoppable arrival of efficient automated segmentation techniques 2- and especially 3-D images influences and optimizes the entire process chain from the acquisition, analysis, processing to the curation of image data. In prenatal diagnostics, artificial intelligence (AI) has shown to be able to assist in targeted examination of the fetal central nervous system, fetal cardiac anatomy, and quantification of cardiac functional parameters. Implementation of AI in daily clinical practice requires assurance of the requirements placed on it and, most importantly, adequately trained clinical staff. The increasing development of AI systems and their integration into clinical processes is accompanied by enormous expectations for the further development of medical care in favor of a personalized precision medicine.
