Abstract
Square‐planar FeIV complexes with a ground state of S = 1 can stabilize the 14π electron system L3−. Treatment with π acceptors such as phosphanes, cyanides, or methylimidazole produces diamagnetic, octahedral FeII complexes (S = 0) containing the monoanion L−, which has 12π electrons.
