Abstract
Radical tumor resection in laryngeal cancer including laryngectomy result in marked functional deficits such as loss of vocal communication, breathing and general wellbeing. Several techniques and applications have been developed to improve the loss of function and life quality. They can be classified as to be related to basics, speech amplifiers, artificial voice, physiotherapy and emergency. Indications, practical use and safety of these techniques are discussed in relation to the specific handicaps after laryngectomy.
