GEWICHT UND OVARIELLE FUNKTION

Translated title of the contribution: Weight and ovarian function

U. Schweiger

Abstract

Underweight in anorexia nervosa or other situations of malnutrition is invariably associated with hypothalamic amenorrhea. Experimental studies in normal women and clinical studies in women with bulimia nervosa show that caloric restriction has the potential to induce menstrual disturbance also in normal weight women.
