Abstract
Sporal as well as mycelial ferritin from Absidia spinosa has been investigated by K-edge XAS. Both measurements can be interpreted with 6 oxygen atoms in the first coordination sphere, which are much more ordered in the mycelial than in the sporal species. The NEXAFS analysis indicates that the electronic structures of the iron centers are slightly different.
