Abstract

During the last few years urologic laparoscopy has gained increasing popularity. Recently published data demonstrate that a majority of German urologists are interested in laparoscopy. However only a minority performs complex laparoscopic procedures like tumornephrectomy or radical prostatectomy. Different strategies to establish laparoscopy at a hospital can be considered. These concepts include visits at other hospitals, training courses and recruitment of an experienced laparoscopist. In the present paper these concepts are discussed and our own experiences with the introduction of laparoscopy described.
