Abstract
Extensive erosions of the scalp in elderly patients may be a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. We report on a 83-year old male patient with relapsing erosions on the scalp over a period of several years. Under the suspension of an epithelial skin cancer, multiple skin biopsies had been obtained in the past which, however, in most cases demonstrated an unspecific inflammatory response. In only a few lesions, superficial, initial invasive epithelial tumors had been detected. Under local antiseptics and a photodynamic therapy, we saw a complete clearance of skin lesions in this patient.
