Abstract

We are grateful for the opportunity to reply to the letter from Mert et al. [1], arguing that the entire study population might not fulfill the TTS diagnostic criteria due to the absence of data on catecholamine levels and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI) [2]. However, enrolled criteria were the most updated at admission time [3]; catecholamine levels were measured only to exclude the presence of pheochromocytoma after an endocrinological evaluation, while cMRI was performed in all institutions to exclude myocarditis.
