Assessing Mission Impact of Cyberattacks: Toward a Model-Driven Paradigm

A. Kott, J. Ludwig, M. Lange

Abstract

Mission impact assessments (MIA) seek to assist the integration of business or military operations with cyberdefense, bridging the cognitive gap between operational decision makers and cyberdefenders. There has been increased interest in approaches to MIA that involve the construction and simulation of models of the mission, systems, and attack scenarios to understand an attack's impact.
