N2 - Left ventricular assist device implantation disrupts the natural intracavitary blood flow path through the heart, introducing flow patterns potentially associated with thrombosis, especially around the inflow cannula. We describe a novel technique for completely excluding the left ventricle with an assist device by using a cone shaped ring-reinforced prosthesis.
