Project Details
Description
In a joint project between the University of Loebeck, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Witten, a non-pharmacological intervention package to prevent sleep problems in people with dementia in nursing homes will be developed over the next two years and tested for appropriateness and effectiveness in a controlled study. The package includes, for example, individualized resident-specific measures for nighttime care, such as individual sleep routines, sleep-promoting environmental adjustments, such as avoiding nighttime light and noise, and an active daily routine, such as participation in various physical and social activities.
