Description

Increasing the quality and attractiveness of vocational education and lifelong learning in the European health sector is the overall aim.
Through contribution to the development of the European Education Area by promoting long-term, sustainable cooperation between the higher education and vocational education and training sectors.
This is to be achieved through the following sub-goals:
- Identification and exploration of the competencies of the 21th century (future skills)
- Formation of a regional competence network for health professions (Excellence Hub)
- Development of an educational platform for the promotion of identified competencies (edu4health.eu)

The EUVECA project has been constructed as an action learning project, it will develope common methods, guidelines and strategies, which will be tested and implemented within the participating seven regions.
The project is designed to support the needed innovation and development of the health care sector, by ensuring the provision of future oriented skills within the sector. A needs analysis is first conducted regarding the competencies of the 21st century. This consists of a literature review, an online-based survey and focus groups with stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem. Based on that the project creates Regional Vocational Excellence Hubs in seven European regions, which collaborate within a European Platform for Vocational Excellence in Health Care. The objective is to ensure coordination, adaption, innovation and upward convergence within regional health education eco systems, as well as promoting European (blended) mobility and inter regional learning and collaboration among health care professionals and students from the participating regions.
