Ziel des Projekts „Endoscopic Comprehensive Optical Multimodal Molecular Intelligent Imaging“ (ENCOMOLE-2i) ist es verschiedene optische bildgebende Verfahren wie OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) und SRS-Mikroskopie (Stimulated Raman Scattering) in ein Endoskop zu integrieren um sowohl die Gewebe-Morphologie und -Struktur darstellen zu können, als auch die biomolekulare Zusammensetzung der Gewebestellen zu analysieren, um so pathologische Veränderungen frühzeitig zu erkennen.
