General Description

The University of Lübeck presented its Teaching Award for the first time in 2016. The award is interdisciplinary in nature and comes with prize money of 3,000 euros.
All lecturers can apply for the award with their own course concepts. Proposals from students and colleagues were accepted until March 31st, 2016. Applications are processed by the Lecturer Service Center.

Winner 2016
Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Horst Pagel (Institute of Physiology) received the University Teaching Award 2016 for the course "Culture and Communication of the Deaf". He beat the other finalists Priv.-Doz. Dr. Amir Madany Mamlouk and Prof. Dr. Rolf Hilgenfeld.
This year's motto was "Our University - A Place of Diversity" and the award was presented on 8 June 2016 as part of the "University in Dialogue" event in the University Church of St. Peter.
