Replication and cell biology of viruses
from the family Flaviviridae

The familiy Flaviviridae encompasses the genera Flavivirus, Pestivirus, Hepacivirus (Hepatitis C Virus) and Pegivirus.

This virus family encompasses human pathogens like hepatitis C virus, Dengue virus or yellow fever virus. In addition, this family also contains economically relevant pathogens of livestock, e.g. hog cholera virus of bovine viral diarrhea.

Understanding the molecular basis of the replication of these pathogens is crucial for the development of antiviral strategies and vaccines as well as for basic science.
