Research interests
Our research is focused on investigating how pathogenic viral proteins interact with human proteins. Specifically, we investigate heart failure caused by viruses, as well as the potential of oncolytic viruses for treating cancer. To obtain high-resolution structural information on host-pathogen protein complexes, we use state-of-the-art techniques such as single-particle cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography. Our ultimate aim is to contribute to the development of new and effective therapies for diseases that are hard to treat.
