Organisation profile

About us

The following areas of medical informatics are the focus of our research activities:

In the field of medical image processing and virtual reality simulation image processing methods, algorithms and software systems are developed for computer-based diagnostic and therapy. By using methods of semantic interoperability (semantic plug and play) cross-institutional health care delivery processes can be improved. This is mainly achieved by utilizing heterogeneous patient and device data in health care in order to enable computer-based exchange, analysis and decision support. The activities can be assigned to the following areas:

  • 4D Medical Image Computing
  • Segmentation an Pattern Recognition in Medical Image Data
  • Image Registration and Correspondence Analysis
  • Image based Virtual Reality Simulation and Modelling
  • Machine learning for multimodal image analysis in medicine
  • eHealth

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Our work contributes towards the following SDG(s):

  • SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being
  • SDG 9 - Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
