Abstract
Pupils who stutter, their parents, teachers and speech and language therapists feel quite insecure about their right to receive special measures to compensate for disadvantages resulting from the disability (Nachteilsausgleich). As well, questions arise regarding how assistance and support could be implemented at schools. This article is based on the work done by a project group run by volunteers entitled "Stuttering and School, Hamburg". It provides crucial information and explains the necessity for individually catered assistance and possible ways it could be carried out. In addition to the legal right for disability-related support, the topic inclusion outlines how pupils who stutter can best take part in regular classes together with non-stuttering students.
