Abstract
Epidemiology is the investigation of the distribution and determinants of a disease or condition in a population. In this chapter, we present a literature overview of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and factors influencing its distribution. Information collected in epidemiologic studies can provide clues regarding the causes of disease, as well as critical information for public health planning and health care delivery.
