Abstract

The new developed computeradaptive test Kids-CAT allows the measurement of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of children and adolescents between 7 and 17 years of age in five dimensions: Physical Well-Being (WB), Psychological WB, Parent Relations, Social Support & Peers, and School WB. Additionally a chronic-generic tool is available. The acquisition is made at the PC or tablet-PC. For each dimension a score is generated, visualized in a coloured Kids-CAT-report and presented immediately to the pediatrician to be included in the doctor-patient-talk. The report offers graphics for an easy comparison of the patients’ results to a german norm-population. The test was well accepted by patients and pediatricians. The short time frame to answer the test and to get the results allows an implementation into a patient-centered care.
