Abstract
The autoimmune bullous disease, linear IgA dermatosis is characterized by blisters and by linear deposits of IgA along the lamina lucida of the basement membrane zone. The disease mostly occurs in childhood and less often in adults. We describe a 4 1/2 year old girl and a 58 year old man. Both showed disseminated blisters for several weeks before the diagnosis was made. The clinical diagnosis was confirmed by immunohistology and immunoblot. Under treatment with dapsone (diaminodiphenylsulfone) the bullous lesions cleared in both patients.
